Chapter 8 Commander Lynn Burnett helps
Serve and Educate our Communities about
how DAV helps Veterans get their Benefits
March 17, 2026

On the evening of March 17th, Chapter 8 Commander Lynn Burnett represented Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at the Encanterra Veterans Club in Queen Creek. The evening was one of learning, understanding, and camaraderie, helping Veterans and their family members better understand the benefits they have earned through their honorable and faithful service to our nation and how DAV can help them obtain those benefits.

DAV East Valley Chapter 8 has resources to help Veterans acquire the benefits they earned through their service. The Chapter Service Officers represent every military department and are all disabled Veterans themselves. In other words, they get it! We understand the roadmap one must follow to be successful with the VA--we speak VA!

Perhaps the best way to explain the full range of services Chapter 8 provides to our Veterans is referring to it as Compassionate Service. Our Chapter House is a safe place for Veterans and their survivors--they can come in any morning, sit down, have a cup of coffee, and relax with other Veterans. We understand depression, anxiety, and grief, and are here to help. We even have a psychologist in the chapter who will sit down with someone, guide them through the challenges they are having, and make sure that they are safe or, in some cases, brought to a place where they can receive the additional treatment they need.

Chapter 8 is a leader among Arizona's 15 chapters, with only a few members short of 4,000 in the chapter and providing over 55% of the total VA claim services in the state (the other 14 chapters do the other 45%) with locations in Mesa, Payson, and at the VA Southeast Clinic in Gilbert.
Housebound? Hospitalized? In hospice care? Transportation challenged? No problem! A Chapter Service Officer (CSO) will come to YOU to make sure that you have access to the benefits you've earned! ONE TEAM, ONE FIGHT!
