Parkinson's Disease and the
Increased Risk for Veterans
February 14, 2026

The above handout (2 sides) was provided by our guest speaker, DAV member and Army Veteran Kevin Ridderhoff, at the February 14, 2026, General Meeting, where he discussed the increased risk for Parkinson's Disease to Veterans through three main areas: toxic exposures, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and constant heavy stress. The most common early signs include mobility issues (stiffness, especially in the lower body) and chronic balance issues.
